Vote John Polich for Park Board April 7th

John Polich is your best choice if you value the protection of open space in your district. The following is a profile on the candidate himself.

Retired from Kraft Foods December 2008 30 years of service. Worked with all marketing teams and advertising agencies to produce photography for
advertising. I come from a corporate environment where I learned to set goals and be responsible for achieving them.

Mid-States Imaging and Photographic Association board member 1982-1988
Campus Green Homeowners Association board member 1995-2001

Opposed moving garden plots
  1. Naperville garden plots are one of the best programs in the Chicago land area and at maximum capacity.
  2. The infrastructure of the garden plots is only a few years old.
  3. The vast majority of the gardeners did not want the plots moved of altered.
  4. The majority of residents I talked with while getting my petitions signed did not want the gardens touched and felt they should be let alone.
  5. It would cost $750,000 plus dollars of the taxpayers money to move the plots and build new fields.
  6. The school could transition into Koch Park at no cost to the taxpayers.
  7. A big concern is students walking a mile to 1-A neither convenient or safe and running between cars on West Street, a four-lane street.
  8. Traffic congestion- during games at Koch Park parking is hard to find, people park illegally, run between cars and pull in and out without looking. Add six to eight hundred more people to the South garden plots and you will have chaos.
  9. There is a possibility of flooding to neighboring residents because of crowned fields which displace water during heavy rains.
  10.  1-A is almost directly across the street from the Edward Hospital’s Emergency room entrance.
  11. Some people feel the gardens are nothing more then dirt fields but to many others and myself it is what Naperville was built on, a farming community.
  12. Losing plots may displace some seniors who do not want to garden anywhere else.

Community Service, I have volunteered regularly at Northern Illinois Food Bank, Boy Scouts of America, COACH house, Habitat for Humanity and Naper Settlement.

To oversee and provide guidance to the executive director on all issues relating to the Park District operations and issues.

25-year resident, familiar with most park facilities and fields from coaching and my boys involvement in numerous sporting activities. I also have 30 years of corporate business experience.

Need to improve cohesive and productive image, look for more indoor and outdoor space needs and provide more programs for seniors.

Courtesy and mutual respect with the primary focus on serving the residents by making sound decisions. Partner with the DuPage County Forest Preserve, City of Naperville, and private owners of vacant space for immediate needs. Look into more open space and basic rec centers for long term needs. Survey seniors for types of programs wanted.

Continue to provide facilities and programs that enhance the quality of life for our
            community.

I would like to use my experience, management skills, creativity, and passion to
help the Naperville Park District reach and exceed all of its goals over the next
            four years.

            Thank you,
            John Polich

Continue to provide facilities and programs that enhance the quality of life for our
            community.

I would like to use my experience, management skills, creativity, and passion to
help the Naperville Park District reach and exceed all of its goals over the next
            four years.

            Thank you,
            John Polich
