Council Candidate Charlie Schneider to defend all of the West St. Community Garden Plots
City Council candidate and President of The Meadows Homeowners Association Charlie Schneider has advised the Coalition that he will defend all of the West St. Garden Plots if elected. As such he joins John Polich, Andrew Schaffner and Doug Krause as endorsed by the coalition. Here is Charlie's statement concerning the current proposal:
"I am not in favor of option 1A as it stands, as I don't believe all other
options and ramifications have been fully considered.
It troubles me that the school knew about the expiration of the lease, and now
we are at the eleventh hour in a panic. I'm also concerned IF option 1A gets
approved, will there be a sunset clause so more plots are not taken in the
future. Too many unknowns. Again, we really need to look at ALL of the
options, and think "out of the box".
I have been accused of "siding" with the gardeners. As such, I've been warned
that it will be political suicide for me come election time. I hope that's NOT
true. Win or loose, at the end of the day, I know my fellow residents will
understand that I have listened to and considered ALL options, used my head and
that it came from my heart."
