Park District Fails to Reach Agreement on the Ponds- Hope for Park Dashed

Seemingly contradicting a recent press release, the Park District June 12th read a prepared statement indicating negotiations for the aquisition of the Ponds of Hobson West would be terminated. Reasons cited for the impasse were legal in nature. During the year and a half since the issue moved from the City Council to the Park District, a discussion of the purchase has never taken place in an open meeting and no public vote has been taken.

     Shortly after the meeting, in a move likely unrelated to the Ponds, Commissioner Charlie Brown resigned his post in order to spend more time with his family.
