Trees Still Needed to Complete the New Sportsman's Park

The area was devastated during the remediation process. Clear cutting of the woods occured in about 80% of the park. The trapshooting program, the park's traditional and historical use, is now healthy, but the park looks terrible. We have addressed the Park Board of Commissioners and asked them to dramatically (1000%) increase the number of re-planted trees. We are even willing to donate hundreds of saplings to the district in exchange for permission to plant them at the park. Since the area has been declared fully remediated by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, there is no longer any reason to delay re-forestation at Sportsman’s Park.
