Coalition Board Member Tom O'Hale Running for the Naperville City Council

Thomas O’Hale, a member of the WSGPC Board since 2001, is running for one of the 8 open spots on the Naperville City Council. O’Hale assisted the effort to protect the West St. Garden Plots from development in 2000-01 and again in 2008-09, and was a leader in the nearly five year battle to create the new Hobson West Ponds Park. Had it not been for O’Hale, concerned neighbors, members of this Coalition and a handful of other leaders including Doug Dallmer, townhomes would have been built between two wetlands, and the Park at Hobson West Ponds would not be the public asset of the Naperville Park District that it is today. O’Hale has also spoken publically against high-density development in parts of Naperville beyond West St., including voicing vocal opposition to the Water St. development, a position also taken by the Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation.
O’Hale recently retired as the Principal of a charter high school on the north side of Chicago. His efforts to turn around the lives of disadvantaged students resulted in being named by Chicago magazine as one of the 50 most influential people in the Chicago area.  O’Hale lives in the Hobson West subdivision along with his wife Denise, a lawyer who also serves as a member of the West St. Coalition Board of Directors. Please consider voting for Thomas O’Hale for the Naperville City Council this April.
