Election Questions for Park District Commissioners

Although the 2011 Park District elections include four candidates seeking an equal number of open seats on the board, there are several issues that may soon arise related to our mission. With this in mind the following questionnaire has been assembled by the WSGPC and will be given to the current Park Board candidates. This is not a comprehensive list of our concerns, but includes some of the more important questions many of our members have.
April 5th Park District Candidate Questions
1) Would you oppose any efforts to put lights on the new playing fields

across from Knoch Park? A “sunset clause” for use of this land was reasonably assured during the 2008 community engagement process.

2) To replace lost garden plots as a result of the recently constructed playing fields, the Park District promised to build garden plots elsewhere in the community but has not done so. What are your views on this?
3) This question pertains to the completion of the Hobson West Ponds Park.
A) There have been no "improvements" made to the property between the

5) Would you favor open disclosure of the full costs of developing the
new playing fields on West Street? This would include the cost of adding garden plots on the north end of the site, the new paved parking lot, the trees planted along West Street and the concrete entry way.

6) A large percentage of the usage of Knoch Park is done by Naperville
